Carolina Champions league round up

September 14th marked the first Carolina Champions League games of the 2019 season for Asheville Shield. Our six competitive fall teams travelled to Matthews Sportsplex for two games each and started their season in spectacular fashion. Our green/white teams took over Matthews Sportsplex and made the club proud.

"Check out this little taster of our U12s implementing our club philosophy this weekend!”

Throughout the day our teams combined for a total of 29 goals across 12 games, and had two teams finish the weekend with two wins from two. The club were incredibly proud to see our teams compete so well against the top teams we faced. Just one year on from our first ever CCL games we can already see incredible development across all of our teams. This weekend saw so many Shield players play their first ever CCL games, score their first ever goals, win their first games of the season - the amount of joy/happiness we witnessed was incredible. We were proud not only of the brilliant performances on the field, but also the performances off it. Our teams showed the club family spirit in abundance by sitting with and supporting the other Shield teams playing whilst they weren’t. No matter what the age or the gender, we are a family and our Green family sticks together at all times.

After the wonderful start to the season - we are excited to see what Carolina Champions League week #2 brings when we return to Charlotte this Saturday (21st September).
