Matthew Tanner

Head CCL Coach 

Matt Tanner is a former DII Collegiate coach. Coach Tanner took the reins of the Spring Hill men’s soccer program in August 2014 after spending the 2013 season as the team’s assistant coach. Holding a USSF National D License, Tanner served as the assistant coach for the U17 Alabama State Semifinalist Mobile Bay FC in 2011-12. He is well-known throughout the Mobile-area soccer community where he has directed club boys and girls program as well as serving as the head coach of the Bayside Academy middle school boys program and the high school varsity assistant.

Tanner played at the University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola for five seasons from 2006-2010 where he was named to the All-Gulf South Conference second team in 2009-2010 and served as team captain in 2010. At UWF, he was part of five consecutive GSC Championships and advanced to the NCAA Division II Regional Semifinals in each of those years. During the summer of 2009 he trained with Club Blooming (Liga de Fútbol Profesional Boliviano).
