First Games In Program History

September 28th marked another massive day in Asheville Shield club history as our U9 & U10 Next Generation teams competed in the programs first ever matches.

The two teams travelled to Waynesville, NC, to play against local side; Carolina Mountain Soccer Club for a brilliant morning of football. Both co-ed teams travelled to compete against four different CMSC teams, in a series of short games. Our two teams started the day playing vs CMSC U10 boys and girls teams, before doing the same versus their U9s after a short rest.

With the program only starting less than two months ago, it was wonderful to see the future of the club shining so brightly. Both teams showed their immense potential they have, by combining for over 30 goals across all games. We witnessed not only some great individual goals but also with some exceptional team play. Seeing our young players embodying our club philosophy of playing out from the back and looking to posses the ball already, is super exciting considering their young age.

"All eyes on Next Generation Shield tomorrow 👀 Our U10s & U9s travel to face Carolina Mountain tomorrow"

I was extremely pleased with the talent on show this weekend. Both teams played fantastic football, scored great goals and was an all round success. The games highlighted the progress that is being made by the individuals and collectively as a team! The future is very bright for Asheville Shield!
